I'm Beatbox Boss Lady aka MOM aka PRincess.

Baby:
I increased my Calcium Magnesium intake today. A little to-do from my midwife. I feel like crap but I think it's because I overate the roast beef drenched in gravy wraps today. Mmm.
I had a few cute belly rubs today. I honestly have the best boyfriend and best Boy Friends!
The lady who I buy my grapefruit from everyday on Queen East shared a shocking fact with me today once I told her I was 30 weeks TODAY! She gave birth 34 years ago at 25 weeks! Her son was 1 pound at the time! Complete miracle as they were home within a month and he's completely healthy.
I want to meet my baby, but I really love being pregnant. It's been such a positive experience!

Work:
We had a wicked Beatbox Canada meeting for the event. I've got to type the changes to our Critical Path and get ready to host the 2nd annual Canadian Beatbox Championships November 12 at the Mod Club in Toronto. It's our second year following a very successful first event. Our team was honestly a little shaky but we're back on track. I'm Beatbox Boss Lady aka MOM aka PRincess.

At Out There, we're working on our client reports from the Toronto International Film Festival. Also trying to figure out my schedule come November. Do I work the first two weeks? Maybe. But maybe I'll work form home. I travel an hour and a bit on public transportation with my computer. That's a lot to ask a lady.

Love:
I'll be spending the weekend in Ottawa with Phil. It'll be the first time we see eachother in over a month. Long overdue! Can't wait :) We're going to try and be all mushy tomorrow night; Saturday is a King of the Dot event, and Sunday we'll have the day to mush around again until I leave. Courage Canada returns to Toronto October 15!

Quote of the day:

" Babe, I feel like a water slide"

I have no fregan time to blog anymore and I'm almost finished my pregnancy :( Between funerals, travels and the flu, I'm going to type today's update as I leave work:

Baby: Laying horizontal- head under the left rib and bum and legs to the right
Weight: Gained about 20 pounds, belly measures 28
Age: 30 weeks!
Heart: Janet our midwife confirms what the doctor told her " I'm feelin' girl today; sounds like a girl's heartbeat"
Love: Courage Canada is back in Ontario! My baby made it from Halifax and now I'm going to meet him in Ottawa this weekend! He's going to see how both his babies have grown :)
Work: Melissa DiMarco cried again over the thought of her Flip and I having a baby. She's a sweetheart.
This was taken LAST November at the Beatbox Canada party. POP held over my belly a sign? I like to think so :p

Life today

My aunt Laura just passed away. Most unexpected, still a young and prime great aunt. Always making memorial videos for everyone else. She loved her crafts and technology. She loved her family and she was attending my baby shower!! Very independent woman, but she was always at the heart of all family functions if she could make it. We even lived with her for a bit, when we moved in with Mimi and aunt Laura had been renting out her basement. Growing up (my four sisters and I) have been so lucky to have such a close relationship with our extended family. Aside from having the two most influential and amazing grandmothers, their own brothers and sisters and their families always remained close. I miss my mimi very much and I wish I could share my life with her now, and especially my baby and the love of my life. She would adore Phil and make him blush with her dirty jokes. Aunt Laura is also joining many of her brothers and sisters, most recently uncle Roy and aunt Jeannine who were also extremely close with our family. She’s going to see her parents , her mom had actually passed away after giving birth to her so I hope they can now rejoice together. It’s also my mom’s 49th birthday, and now she has a special guardian angel to watch over her for the next fifty years. We host family reunions to make sure everyone stays in touch and now with Facebook, our family stays more in touch than ever. I still prefer a more personal approach like a phone call over a facebook message but I guess sometimes time takes over. Aunt Laura loved her Facebook and online videos. Some of our relatives found out through facebook about aunt laura’s passing. My little sister called me from her bus stop after reading it on Facebook. She called me immediately because she knows how much it bugs me to find things out online, especially because I am so far away. She was with my other little sister who was in tears, but they both had to stay at the bus stop. They still had to make it to highschool. One had a test, the other a job interview after school. My mom was in bed when I called her wanting to come home immediately. She was still turning 49, and she still had to go to work. I’m going to go home tomorrow, but I as well have to complete my day. I’m typing this blog in the doctor’s office. I’m on my first hour of the glucose test. Once this is done I have to organize some sponsorship proposals for Beatbox Canada and then pack to go see my family  I miss Phil more than ever, and I’m glad I can go home and get some family hugs now that the film festival is over. Our baby, who we’re calling Annabelle right now is still moving around a lot. Phil and I were talking about room décor last night and her little hand or foot completely reached out to me as if to say “hey, I don’t like that idea, it’s my room”. Yes Annabelle, our entire universe now centres around you, you little peanut. You keep us stronger than ever. The more lives we lose and miss, the more life you gain and we cherish. I can’t wait to hug you. xoxo

I'm excited...

There are many things I'm excited for:

1) To hold my baby! But I'll miss this belly!
2) Phil aka DADDY to come home October 15 :D
3) To finish work
4) To begin a new job
5) Organize the baby room
6) Set up our little kitchen
7) Beatbox Canada November 11 and 12
8) To enjoy a few drinks and party
9) Get financially stable
10) Be an inspirational PR MOM

You can see it's a mix of what I'm going through right now, what i'm missing, and what I'm adapting towards.

Cocktail events and doctor appointments

Today I'm hosting a cocktail event called The Industry! drummrolllsss pleaseee!
It's hosted by Out There with Melissa DiMarco and we're all working to bring the best of the film industry into our suite for some food, drinks and mingling. The wine is Loios, the beer is Beau's all natural, the water is Eska, Booster Juice is sampling and Jack Astor's is fresh on the menu!
But first...
I'm going to meet a family doctor! I called this morning to confirm the appointment and pronounced her name wrong twice but it should be okay seeing as the receptionist laughed. And when a receptionist at a doctors office smiles, it's usually a good sign. It's intimidating going to meet a doctor for MY FAMILY. Me, baby and Phil... it has to be someone who's seen a baby lately and who makes me and Phil feel comfortable. My mom chose my last doctor for me, it's something I've never had to worry about! Well I won't worry. I'm going to meet her and chat, and if all goes well then I'll be typing my next post about my newfound family doctor!
Midwife appointment is on Wednesday, another day when we're hosting a cocktail event.
Let's get the week started!
This is what I'm wearing to TIFF today :)

The Festival Begins

I did Yoga in the baby's room last night. I need a good stretch/massage/bath. I'm starting to feel a litttle broken and it's only day two of the Toronto International Film Festival. Doing Publicity for Out There's VIP Lounge is exciting, but it involves the two faces of PR- on site and on the computer. I should really be typing the RSVP list instead of blogging, but I should also be taking more care of my pregnant self and not climbing so many hotel stairs. It's a little challenging because I'm a hands on worker, so when I'm on site I'm going to work and make sure my furniture (Urban Barn) looks right, make sure the Schwarzkopf hair products are set, clean up food, serve drinks (I had one sip of Beau's beer) and ultimately network! It's a lot of fun, but after all the face-to-face stuff I have to come face to endless computer time on a limited budget. And who wants to cram late night computer hours when there are late night TIFF parties?! You win some you lose some. All I know is I slept an extra hour today, and I know I got much more sleep than the average film festival goer. I better finish our RSVP list so I can go smooze with VIP's and celebrities in the suite I made happen (with Barton's help of course!). Time to dress up this baby belly :)
